Río Gallegos is the southernmost continental city in our country and the second most important city on the Patagonian Coastline. It is the capital of the Province of Santa Cruz. It has an international airport and a great variety of services for tourists.
The city has been constituted as a vacation center that distributes tourism all around Southern Patagonia, to destinations such as El Calafate, El Chaltén, Ushuaia, to name a few. The tourist offer in the city is made up by museums, craftsmen’s markets, art shows and the waterfront attraction represented by the ria.
Outside the urban range, the hospitality of tourist estancias, fishing, the volcanic scenery of Laguna Azul and the Cabo Vírgenes Wildlife Reserve - “one of the largest penguin colonies in South America“ - are the main attractions.
